Walking has so many benefits!
-Walking will help recovery
-Increased cardiovascular endurance and health
-Improves heart and lung function and increased oxygen consumption allows for improved healing
-Decreased stress and anxiety. Good for our heads ladies!
-Helps with weight management
-Medications with treatment can cause weight loss or gain
-Use of Walking Sticks or Trekking Poles (or if you have ski poles in your garage). Encourages a more natural walking pattern with reciprocal arm swing and trunk rotation. Increased circulation and lymph flow. Do not use walking sticks until drains are removed after surgery. It can take a little getting used to so do not get discouraged if you feel uncoordinated at first!
